Product Description
For a long time, man has a fascination with being able to see at night without the use of big blinding lights. Until recently this has been nothing more than a dream, but this dream is now reality, with Bushnell Night Vision Scopes. Perfect for wildlife observation, home security, night time walking - in fact anything where you need to see in the veil of darkness. Bushnell Nigh vision scopes are comprised of high-quality image intensifier tubes and optics that amplify existing light allowing you to see in conditions too dark for the naked eye. All of the Bushnell models feature an infrared illuminator for vision in total darkness, so stop guessing what's out there, and discoverer the night with Bushnell Night Vision. So how does night vision work? Well, in layman's terms it is fairly simple. You look through the one end when it's dark, and 'voilà!', you can see through the other end. However, for those more technically minded the answer is as follows: 1) Available light (energy) is collected is 3by the objective lens and focused on the image intensifier. 2) Inside the intensifier a photocathode is 'excited' by the light and converts the energy into electrons. The electrons accelerate across an electrostatic field inside the intensifier and strike a phosphor screen (like a monochrome tv screen) which emits an image that you can see. This acceleration of electrons provides gain and enhances the image. The Bushnell Seagull, as the name suggests is a waterproof scope and is therefore perfect for sailors and fishermen. It is an extremely compact and lightweight monocular and offers outstanding viewing clarity in the darkest conditions. It even floats!Technical Specification: Magnification: 2.5 x 42 (magnification x objective lens). Viewing Range: 1.2m - 183m. Field of view: 26m @ 100m. Infrared illuminator: yes (built in).
