Product Description The Son of Hibatchi sounds like an eagerly awaited sequel to a Godzilla movie and in fact Hibatchi is a Japanese word. However, disapointingly for Godzilla cultists but reassuringly for beefburger fans the Son of Hibatchi is a fantastic mobile barbecue. If you are fed up with those annoying disposable barbecues that crush under a corn on the cob, bend after a quarter pounder and burn just about long enough to sizzle a sausage, then the Son of Hibatchi is perfect. This portable barbecue is ready to use after 10 minutes due to the intensity of the heat caused by the chimney effect. This sounds fancy but broken down this is what happens.Place the charcoal on each side of the barbecue. Fold the barbecue back up (the barbecue is lit when folded double) Slide the damper on about 1 inch to hold the sides together and leave the ash drawer open about half an inch. Fill the ash drawer with combustible material and saturate the coal with lighter fluid, then light. The chimney bitThe chimney construction causes the flame to rise through the charcoal turning it into a mini blast furnace, hot enough to make Fred Dibnah proud. The heat is so intense the coal is ready to use in approximately 10 minutes. The best part about this barbecue is the self cleaning and instant portability even though it's still hot. When everybody's bellies are full and the barbecue is still hot (yep still hot) fold it back up, close the ash draw and leave to stand for about 2 minutes. The lack of air to the barbecue causes the charcoal to smother saving the charcoal to be used again. Not only that the heat cooks the grease and scraps away from the grills so that next time barbecue is clean and ready to use. After waiting 2 minutes the barbecue has cleaned itself then put it into its Snuff Out Pouch (while it's still hot) there it can be stored until its needed for the next pow wow.Dimensions Width 635 mm Length 255 mm Depth 178 mm Weight 5.44 kgThe Grill area is 21 cm x 26.5 cm per grill that is equivalent to 1113 square cm or 172 square inches of cooking space. | |
